The latest dance sound to surface just in time for summer is moombahton. It’s basically a slowed down 4-4 beat running at roughly 110 bpm that pay homage to reggaeton and cumbia. I have a feeling this particular remix by Smutlee of Schlachthofbronx’ Chambacu will be played to death this summer. As for the genre’s lasting appeal? Only time will tell.
