Matrix & Futurebound – Strength 2 Strength
Matrix & Futurebound is a bout to drop their album “World Wide”. Strength 2 Strength is a teaser to this album and it basically sounds like what’s up with drum’n'bass today with its progressive house vibe and 4/4 side chained bass that gives the tune bouncing feel. This tune just showed us why drum’n'bass as a genre has managed to survive all this time. It constantly adapting and adjusting it self to whats going on in dance music.
Codebreaker – The Space Chase

Codebreaker a.k.a. Steven Hawley and Sage Schwarm are electronic duo that has creates anthemic electric and criminally infectious beat. With influence as varied as The Clash, Space, Roots Radics, Tears For Fears, Chocolate Milk, Global Communication, The Beach Boys, The Time, Giorgio Moroder, Nile Rodgers, Wuf Ticket, Robby Love Feat. Charlotte Mckinnon, Demon, Salt Tank, Harold, Vangelis, Marc Gauvin, Roger S, Alan Braxe & Fred Falke, Pet Shop Boys, Cyber People + More they’ve put together their effort in an LP titled “The Space Chase“
The result is a blend of disco funk with modern touch and future classic dance anthem. Upon listening to the LP for the first time, I instantly got hooked to it and been listening to it continuously since. I can’t pick a single favorite because the whole thing is just great as a whole. This LP is definitely something worth checking out.
Similar acts include the likes of Miami Horror, Faze Action, Bottin and others who has championed the nu-disco sound.
You can preview the entire album at URB‘s website or here. For more info about Codebreaker, you can check out their blog.
Nu:Tone – Shine In (ft. Natalie Williams)
After the slightly disappointing LP “Back Of Beyond”, drum’n'bass producer Nu:Tone a.k.a Dan Gresham return with his third full length titled “Words & Pictures”. Overall, this album is a return to form, going back to what Nu:Tone knows best; Fast Soul Music! The result is probably his best work to date. Excellent techno induced lead single “Shine In” featuring long time partner Natalie William and “The Feeling” featuring Ben Westbeech stood out among the 12 tunes offered in this album. This is a must have for fan of soulful drum’n'bass.

Who is Bot’Ox?
Who is Bot’Ox? They are actually a a brand new electronic duo from Paris, France. So, most of you will say “great, not another trendy french music again!”. Well, I wouldn’t blame you if that’s what you think with the recent influx of trendy French things. Despite the trend, this duo is worth your time to check out, especially if you’re into electronic music. Bot’Ox is actually a new project from veteran French house scene Benjamin Boguet (alias Cosmo Vitelli) and Julien Briffaz (half of Tekël), so they are definitely no newbie in this game. Their earlier singles were released on labels as essential as DFA, I’m a Cliché, DC Recordings or Marketing and now the improbable duo is releasing its first real album, with the prophetic title – a manifesto of the rushing end of the century – Babylon By Car. It’s scheduled for release on October 23rd and yes I’m looking forward to it. In the meantime check out some of their earlier work.
