Update: EGRV Control 2.1 (Free TouchOSC template for Traktor Pro 2)
Our friend EGRV sent us a small update to their excellent EGRV Control template for TouchOSC. It’s a minor update that concentrate more in improving workflow while mixing. They also added more functionality to the Gate/Delay & LFO/Flange Buttons that will allow you to change value of those buttons on the fly. There are few more changes and improvement that you can find below. Let them know what you think. Have fun! In the meantime, they are working on new template that utilize jog wheels to make it even more fun.

RIP DJ Mehdi
French hip-hop/dance producer DJ Mehdi, who began his career on the underground Parisian hip-hop scene, died on Tuesday (September 13). According to several reports, the DJ/producer (born Mehdi Favéris-Essadi) was fatally injured when the roof of his Paris home collapsed. He was 34 years old. Mehdi was celebrating his 34th birthday with friends on his rooftop when the tragic accident occurred.
Our prayer and condolances goes to his family and friends. Rest in Peace DJ Mehdi
Traktor Pro 2 coming soon!
Well, for all the digital djs out there, the wait is almost over. Traktor Pro 2 is almost here it promises to be something that is quiet exciting with its 4 sampler recorder. Now is the time to get really creative with your mix and doing more than just moving from trak A to track B kind of DJing anymore. In the meantime, checkout the video about Traktor Pro 2 from Native Instruments. Traktor Pro 2 will be available for the masses on April 2011
Coming soon, VANS – EGRV – LEYP!
Our boys, Jakarta’s own EGRV is dropping their 3rd full length Power On Power Off in very near future. But, their album is not the only exciting thing to come out from their camp. Coming out in the end of 2010 is a limited collaboration shoes series from VANS – EGRV – LEYP! and denim collaboration with Indonesian denim brand Pot Meets Pop. We’ll keep you posted with more update.

Lloyd Popp x DJ Flame “Memanggil Lloyd Popp”
What really bring joy to my life is when I can work with a creative minded person or finding and breeding new talent. That’s why we decided to build Rap Superstar from sketch. With hope can breed new talent with creative mind.
But this kid Lloyd Popp, he’s kind of both sided for me. Something’s up with Pisces mind. He is a creative person, and also consider new talent that I met half a year ago.
We did couple of tracks before Freesouls had “Rap Superstar” with the hope can release a mixtape or so, but everything didn’t really fall in the place because my time management, I’m really sorry Lloyd.
This track “Memanggil Lloyd Popp” is a track that we built based on his inspiration, which was Parliament / Funkadelic type of sounds. Stacked layers of 90′s sound drums, Moog Voyager lead synth, a happy mood, with a twisted wordplay, this track definetly one of my favorite self-produced track.
