Our favorite 17 years old French producer Madeon is back with another gem, a remix of Martin Solveig’s The Night Out. This kid never cease to amaze me as he gets better with each track he released. The fact that he’s only 17 years old is just straight damn scarry. This kid got unlimited potential. He started gaining some recognition when he won Pendulum’s The Island remix contest, then dropped a video of his 32 tunes mash up Pop Culture that went viral and turned him into internet sensation overnight. Soon enough he started playing at clubs across Europe and also got slot at this year’s Coachella. Not bad at all.
The Night Out is oozing that good vibe dance pop with unmistakable French sound. If you’re a fan of Daft Punk or the Ed Banger crew then you should definetely check him out.

Local Flava: John B ft. NSG – Light Speed (Radio Mix)
Some of you might wander why a John B tune is listed under local flava when he’s actually from the UK. The reason is because of his collaborator in this tune NSG. This is not the first time that this MC/producer NSG who is Indonesian featured in this blog. Previously we mentioned him in his collaboration with Indonesian female hip-hop mc Yacko in her track Brrapp! and also his online collaboration video that went viral on youtube.
Now that we got that out of the way, Light Speed is the tittle track from John B’s 4th album. It got all of John B’s trademark sound of big room trance that gives you euphoric and uplifting vibe blended expertly in drum’n'bass format. Basically the currently trendy techy/trancy sound of drum & bass owes a lot to this man. John B’s sound is definitely not for everyone. Many drum & bass purist have accuse him of stirring drum & bass too far away from its root. That’s what purist are though, always afraid of changes. As for me, I love the idea of drum & bass incorporating other style. The more the merrier. Variety is the spice of live ain’t it?

After several Grammy nominations, Skrillex’ next release has become one of the most highly anticipated music. His next follow up is Bangarang EP. In a way, he still deliver his trademark sound but it leaves you a bit disappointed because he has yet you show any progress in the evolution of the Skrillex sound. Bangarang is not a full album though.The label might just release this as a stop-gap between his long awaited full length debut while capitalizing in the moment. If you’re a huge Skrillex then this one is for you. As for the rest, this will add even more fuel to Skrillex haters/Dubstep purist to lash out even more.

The Bloody Beetroots – Church Of Noise (feat. Dennis Lyxzén)
Italian producer team The Bloody Beetroots is back with brand new single Church Of Noise. It features vocal from Swedish hardcore punk band Refused. The track started out along the line of tunes from bands like Snow Patrol and The Killer before thumping 4-4 beats kicks in along with Lyxzen’s screaming vocal. The second part of the tune return to familiar BLoody Beetroots sound. Is’s nice new direction for this duo but might not be everyone’s cup of tea.

His 3rd album Playing In The Shadow comes out swinging with its slew of heavyweight beats produced by who is who in dance scene such as Nero, Feed Me, Laidback Luke, Funkagenda, Chase & Status, DC Breaks and many more. Not even a single stinker to be found in this fine album. This album got my vote as best dance album of the year!

Welcome to the first proper Local Flava column. This column will focus on Indonesian dance music producers/djs. As a country with over 250 millions people we definitely have tons of potential producers. Some of the top producers from Indonesia are Angger Dimas and Mahesa Utara and many more are bound to follow in their foot steps. One such producer is Akira As Astronaughty a.k.a. DMust Akira.
He’s been around for a few years, content being the man behind the screen. Now he’s ready to breakout on his own with the release of his solo album “Attracted To The Light“. Speaking of album, his sound can be describe as melodic electro. The best way to describe it is take a bit of Daft Punk add some Fred Falke and small dose of Aeroplane & Digitalism, throw in a lil’ bit of Justice and MSTRKRFT but turndown the distortion level, and occasionally sprinkle some Skrillex and you have Akira As Astronaughty. In other words, its the French sound. Yes, we believe that Akira As Astronaughty is gonna make some noise in the upcoming years. Keep your ears open for this guy.
