Murderer

The Partysquad is a hiphop/electro outfit from Amsterdam. I can’t say much about them since most information about them is in Dutch. In the meantime, here’s a dubstep remix from Diplo and Jayou.

Stars get down

Some people might say that drum’n'bass had its time already. Obviously at the moment the medias are in love with its cousin dubstep. Drum’n'nbass in the meantime has indeed lost a bit of its shine. When people start saying that drum’n'bass is getting boring, not exciting anymore, stagnate and other discouraging terms, along came a gem of a track from Moscow’s producer Subwave. If I must describe “Stars Get Down” in one sentence then i’d say it’s minimal techno goes drum’n'bass. In the sea drum’n'bass sludge, “Stars Get Down” stood out with its minimalist approach, beautiful lush melody and most important part, groove. Groove is what most drum’n'bass producers today forgot to incorporate in their tracks, focusing instead on trying impress other producers. They forgot that the purpose of these tracks are to get people dancing in the club. This is why Subwave’s Stars Get Down gives a breath of fresh air and make drum’n'bass exciting again. “Stars Get Down” is out now as part of Future Sound of Russia compilation on Hospital Records.

You and I

Here’s an awesome remix from DFA’s The Juan Maclean of The Disco Biscuits’ track “You And I“. It’s 10 minutes worth chuggy tech house number with a hint of progressive that gets heavier as it progress longer. Once again, The Juan Maclean deliver.

Strange Things

The Count and Sinden are two prolific producers in their own rights. The Count a.k.a Herve has been releasing tunes from strength to strength on his own imprint Cheap Thrills, while Sinden was also no slouch with numerous massive remixes. Together, they’ve put out hits after hits such as the classic wobble bassline house anthem Beeper featuring vocal from current hot mc Kid Sister or the dub step monster Stinging Nettle & Dock Leaf. Now, they go even bolder by going old skool jungle in their latest tune Strange Things, released on Domino. All the elements are there, the reggae sample, the cut up funk breaks, the bouncy bass lines, these boys got it all down. This tune will fit right into your old skool jungle set and no one will even realize that it’s a brand new tune. I luve it!

Keep It Goin’ Louder

Keep It Goin’ Louder is the third single from Major Lazer’s awesome album Guns Don’t Kill People, Lazer Do. The original feature Ricky Blaze & Nina Sky. In this remix by Lazer’s own Diplo, he left out the entire Ricky Blaze vocal and keep only Nina Sky’s part. In some part, this track reminds me so much to Olive‘s classic tune You’re Not Alone. Nonetheless, it’s a good and worthwhile remix.
