Hypercaine
DJ Fresh, former member of the once legendary drum’n'bass group Bad Company is back with this new release entitled “Hypercaine” on his own imprint Breakbeat Kaos. There’s only one word to describe “Hypercaine”, it’s epic. The oiginal d’n'b track is just filled with epic trance like built up before switch into killer bass line. In the meantime, the flip side featured a dub step remix from Nero. This one is just as massive except for the slower beat.
Heavy Still
2009 have been huge for Jesse Rose especially with the release of his debut album “What Do You Do If You Don’t?”. The album spawned several hits such as “Touch My Horn” and “Well Now”. In the mean time, his label Made To Play have been scorching hot with several strong releases. One of those release is from none other than Zombie Disco Squad who is responsible for last year’s minimal banger “The Dance”. Now, both of them team up in the remix of Jesse Rose’s latest single “Heavy Still”. The remix is an exercise in percussion laced minimal groove that will get those feet moving all night long.

Our friend DJ Anowl from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia just sent us this slammin’ mix of house, fidget and electro. A little info about Anowl, he started as a drum’n'bass dj. He’s a third place winner for Pioneer Digital DJ Battle 2007, champion for Malaysia DJ Battle Championship 2008, champion for Heineken Presents Juice DJ Quest 2008 Malaysia Final, champion for Heineken Presents Juice DJ Quest 2008 Regional Final and a second winner for Pioneer Digital DJ Battle 2008. He also play various genre in it like Electro, Trance, Techno, Hip Hop/Rap, Samba, Jazz, Rock/Hardcore and whatever you want it to be.
Move Higher
Sub Focus, the current drum’n'bass it producer has just released his self titled debut album. The album is a pleasant surprice as he was not content with just giving you drum’n'bass anthem one after another, instead there are a fwe nice down tempo tunes along with couple dub step tunes and my current favorite house tune at the moment “Move Higher”. Going along the line of DJ Zinc’s crack house sound, the track opens up with some old skool funky breaks followed with some dreamy rave stab that reminds you of the early days of jungle. Then when the bass drop, we’re treated with bouncy wobble bass on top of groovin’ four on the floor house beat. It was quite a surprise for me to hear such killer house banger from this drum’n'bass top producer. I once read in a page of computer music magazine and it stated that drum’n'nbass is one of the most complex genre to produce, resulting in its practitioner becoming one of the most versatile and technically adept producer. Sub Focus just emphasized that statement.

Ultraviolet is out and it live up to all of its hype. Kid Sister shows her versatility as an MC by effortlessly delivered her rhymes to various style of musics. This girl definitely can rap! Here’s a track taken from the album, produced by the current king of dub step Rusko and titled “Step”.

I’m a bit behind on this track as I just found it. Nonetheless, it deserves a mention in here as it is indeed an amazing tune. It’s a nu disco number with dreamy vocal that reminds me a lot to Friendly Fire’s Paris which features Au Revoir Simone. It’s been contantly playing on my iTunes’ playlist and I cant get enough of it.
Kaleidoscope
Tiesto is not a name that you expect from this Blog but, I will mention it if his track his getting remix treatment from High Contrast. As one of my favorite drum’n'bass producer, High Contrast has never failed to deliver and this one is no exception. This remix has epic written all over it and will bring hands in the air during any peak hour d’n'b sets. I luv it.
